Dutch university modernises its data centre infrastructure

In 2023, the University of Twente embarked on a major upgrade of its data centre infrastructure to meet growing demands for high-performance computing (HPC), greater energy efficiency, and long-term scalability.

Partnering with A2 Networks and Aginode, the University of Twente aimed to replace outdated systems, simplify complex cabling routes, and future-proof the infrastructure. The project involved close collaboration across university departments and industry partners, leveraging preconnectorised cabling solutions and expert planning to ensure a seamless, downtime-free migration. 

The result is a high-performance, energy-efficient infrastructure designed to serve the university’s needs for the next 15 to 20 years.
