What  does Aginode do for Smart Cities?

Smart cities need a number of infrastructure and connectivity components. Aginode contributes in the following ways:

Connectivity infrastructure
Fiber, copper, hybrid cables: Aginode’s products include structured cabling (LANmark etc.), fiber links, and hybrid power/fiber to support connectivity especially for high bandwidth and high reliability.

Edge / indoor 5G support
Aginode provides hybrid power/fibre cables to support indoor 5G small cells and radio access nodes.

LAN / Data Centre / Building Network Management
Products like LANactive, LANsense, LANmark help in structured, manageable networks inside buildings, campuses etc.
Features include automated infrastructure management (AIM): detecting disconnections, optimizing port usage, managing cable infrastructure, etc.

Support for small cells / distributed network nodes
For deploying small cell infrastructure / distributed radio access points, including power/data connectivity, robust cabling and switches that can handle PoE, etc.

Enabling Smart / Connected Buildings & Campuses
Their LANactive / FTTO (Fibre To The Office) solutions allow retrofits / renovations with minimal disruption, fewer cables, easier maintenance. E.g. case study at The Hague.
These kinds of networks are foundational for lighting control, HVAC, IoT sensors, security, etc., which are all parts of Smart City / Smart Building environments.

How this fits into a Smart City Ecosystem

Aginode supports Smart Cities by providing:

  • the physical network / “plumbing” for data: fibre, cabling, switches, etc.
  • reliable, efficient indoor and outdoor connectivity (5G small cells, etc.)
  • tools for monitoring and managing the network infrastructure (to maintain uptime, reduce maintenance costs, facilitate upgrades)
  • sustainable designs to reduce environmental impact and operational costs
  • and modularity and future‑proofing (supports higher bandwidth, newer Ethernet standards, PoE etc.).
