The Singapore Green Building Council recertifies Nexans copper LAN cables
Aug 18, 2022
For a 10th consecutive year Nexans Singapore has received the Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) Certification for its LANmark-6, 6A and 7A copper ethernet cables for structured cabling install inside commercial buildings, offices and data centres by the Singapore Green Building Council.
The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) is a non-profit organization that promotes the sustainability of the building environment in Singapore. In their masterplan to green the building sector the SGBC wants to increase the proportion of certified sustainable buildings in Singapore from 43% in 2020 to 80% by 2030.
Singapore’s climate goals include reducing by 50% the amount of greenhouse gas emissions the city-state generates from its 2030 peak by 2050. To reach this goal reducing the buildings footprint is key as the sector contributes to about a fifth of Singapore’s emissions.
Nexans will ensure its LANmark cables continue to meet the stringent requirement set by the SGBC under its SGBP product certification scheme. The certificates issued in July 2022 cover the Nexans LANmark-6, LANmark-6A and LANmark-7A cable range.
